Week 9 runs 1 & 2 - and a little 'trip' in M&S....

Run 1 - Did it!!! I ran for 30 minutes in one go!!! Woo hoo!!! Apart from being able to run for 30 minutes I realised on Saturday how much fitter I'd got when husband and I went out to walk one of the routes I'm thinking of running.

We walked for approx an hour at quite a fast pace, not once was I out of breath, nor did I even consider it 'exercise'. Before I started the C25K, I'd have been proud of myself that I walked for an hour but now I think nothing of it!!!

Had a little mishap on Monday afternoon in M&S when I slipped on what I think was a wet patch on the floor that had absolutely nothing to do with the mega heels I was wearing ;) but it was raining and we were near the exit doors and I slipped and came crashing down on both knees and twisted my ankle. Apart from the major embarrassment that comes with these kind of things, (you know, where you think ok I may just pull this back with a bit of a stumble, but then you think no….I'm goin down like a sack of potatoes oh the embarrassment!!!) my first thought was "nooooooo my knees will they be ok???!!!" They seemed to be ok, just bruised and the ankle hurt well into the evening, but it's a funny thing that when things like that happen one of my main concerns is not being able to run! Love it :)

Run 2 - Was nervous doing this one as I'm so near to graduating, but got through it fine. The knees were great apart from a massive multicoloured bruise and the ankle was fine too so no damage there, very luckily!!

Kept a steady pace on the treadmill didn't want to do anything too fancy at this point, apart from a few woops and yee ha's which slipped out again much to my daughter's amusement this time (home from Uni), but my husband is getting used to it. He's been helping me in putting a plan together for going forwards, so will report back on that on Friday after graduation. Can't wait!!!!! :)

Yes just my pride thankfully, I did have a little weep when we got to the car park as I'd got quite a shock, and it hurt! What a wimp ;) Good luck for your remaining runs!!! :)

Nothing wrong with crying. Very lucky not to have sustained more than bruises

Glad your M&S mishap wasn't too serious! Can't wait to hear how it goes for graduation. Just finished week 4 today so graduation still feels like a speck on the distant horizon - but keeping going! :-)

Well done you, and today you graduated - even bigger well done. How fortunate that your fall in M&S didn't cause a problem - my wife did exactly that a couple of years ago and broke her foot. Ouch!
