I am really struggling with tight calf muscles whilst running, I do a 10 minute warm up before starting but about a minute into the run the calf muscles start to go tight…..any suggestion as to what I can do to stop it happening?

🍏 Welcome to our forum… tight calf muscles are not unusual in new runners … not too sure how new you are to running so going to give you a link to faq that may help you. Have a read & then come back with any more questions.
So pleased you are warming up before you run & hopefully after the run you do some static stretching. Strength & flex exercises in between also help to strengthen those leg muscles. Key to every thing including your warm up, is to run SLOWLY & easily…. to have good supportive trainers & running socks… DO NOT run if the tightness becomes pain but seek advice from physio or GP.
