feeling old 😕

I posted a few days ago that I thought I had pulled my glute muscles whilst running.

The pain has got much worse and I have today been to see a sports physio apparently I have a an inflamed sacroiliac joint.

I have had acupuncture a massage and exercises to do,

I have another appointment in a weeks time,

Has anyone else had this problem and have any words of wisdom or suggestions as to how long this will take to heal.

I’m so disappointed and want to get back to running ASAP.

Will This be possible?

Oh no! Poor you. Having been on the injury couch, I know how miserable it is and I’m sending masses of sympathy your way. You’ve done the right thing by seeking help, and they’re the best ones to advise you on how and when to return to running.

Most injury problems don’t stop the runs forever but they might need some work to build up your strength in specific ways first. Hopefully that will be the case for you. Have a conversation with your physio when you see them next week. Really good luck 🤞

🍏 Excellent advice from MissU but adding that I had a similar situation, mine caused sciatic pain down the leg & lower back ache as I didn’t stop running initially. It took much longer to recover than it would have done. It’s SO worth getting it sorted & waiting on your physio to give the go ahead.

Use the time to read up the lovely pinned posts & other users posts. Before you know it yo will back on track! Big hug 🤗

Well done for getting this attended to so quickly. I was at the physio yesterday too where she did work on a muscle I didn’t know existed! Part of the joys of running….but you are six years younger than I was when I started running….so forget the feeling old bit 🙂

I see each set of exercises as a step on the way back to running. Works for me 👍
