run 2 week 9: we’ll one more run to go, I put... - Couch to 5K
run 2 week 9
Nearly everyone. Very few folk reach 5K in 40 minutes after nine weeks and some folk never do.
They run marathons, half marathons and more...but have never done the 30 minutes, 5K.We have had lots of posts about this and polls too..
You are not alone and you are doing wonderfully.
Just carry on until you reach that podium and then...you can decide how you want to move on! X
Goodness! Most of us, I've been running years and will never run as fast as you do but I feel fitter and love the muscles in my legs, just enjoy the freedom running gives you and don't push for speed, that'll increase a bit with time anyway
I agree with the replies above! This is just a timed programme. I’ll add that if you carried on at the same pace, 5k would take you about 35 minutes. After you’ve graduated, you can gently build your run time and you’ll get to 5k. Loads of our graduates do that. The bonus of that is you get to celebrate twice!
They did a poll on here a while back and that showed that the majority of people replying didn't reach 5K in 30 minutes. I think I was at about 4K at that time. So you're in good company!
Most of us experience this so don’t feel bad just remember you ARE a runner and the 5k will come x try a park run if you want to x they’re fantastic for getting used to what 5k feels like x congratulations and give yourself a huge pat on the back for your achievements so far xx
C25k is a bit of a misnomer it should really of been C230mins but doesn't sound quite so catchy and probably wouldn't have tied in with the excellent parkrun which of course is 5k. You stick to what your body's comfortable with speed and distance will come naturally. Best thing is to enjoy and smile 😁👍
Most of us. Programme has the wrong name! You will end up running for 30 mins but many of us never get to 5k in 30 mins.
