C25K with hip OA

Helloall,

I completed my C25K last year & kept running.

However I got diagnosed with Osteoarthritis of the right hip this year.

I have been working with a physiotherapist to try to get me back to running ( & also to manage pain).

I feel like it is working. I am pretty diligent & do my exercises 5-6 times a week. My physiotherapist is scheduling a “capacity assessment” in about a month.

She is also planning to modify the C25K program so I can start again at some point.

Anyway just wondering if anyone on here has been running with hip OA and how they have managed it.

Cheers & happy running everyone!

🍏Well done for taking good advice from a Physiotherapist. I too have osteoarthritis in most parts of my body… Chi Running ( slow snail pace) is the answer for me. Walking on non run days plus strength & flex. I am also under medical advice which is the only way to go with any painful condition. Hope your modified C25K goes well. Do let us know!
