Hi, so I started to try C25K about 10 years ago in my teens, but got a couple of weeks in and really hurt my ankles and had to stop.
A few weeks ago I decided this was something I really wanted to achieve, and while on my last few months of maternity leave with my 9 month old baby, have started the programme again using a running buggy.
I have been really enjoying it, however at the start of W3 run 1, I felt pain/tightening in my right Achilles tendon. I continued with my run and completed it (surprised with how well I managed the 3 minute runs) but I can still feel some tenderness a day later in the back of that foot. (Dare I say my other ankle is a bit tender too, a bit of a dull ache)
I recognise the pain from last time I attempted running and I really don’t want to stop, I’m really enjoying it. I’m worried if I run again too soon I will really injure myself, but I also read that not exercising can be bad for the Achilles tendon.
Any experience or advice please to keep me on the running road?
many thanks,
