Normally I run early in the morning, but on Saturday I could not seem to get out of bed early, maybe because it was raining, maybe the glass or two of wine I had the night before, who knows. Anyway I didn't go out, and by mid afternoon, I was feeling pretty down and disappointed with myself, so decided to run at 3.30pm - thinking that as it was cloudy it wouldn't be too bad - wow, how wrong was I? Its incredible the difference 10 degrees makes - normally at 6 am over the last few weeks is been between 12 - 15 degrees, on Saturday afternoon it was 25 degrees, and I struggled - I still managed the 30 minute run, plus a little bit - but it really took it out of me, split times were down to what I was doing 2 weeks ago - I think my wife thought I was going to collapse when I got home.
This morning however, back to the 6am slot, and all back to normal, looking forward to the graduation run on Wednesday - then onto the Half Marathon Training....
