Any tips for preventing elbow pain when running?

Over the past few months I’ve been battling golfer’s elbow type symptoms. Rest, ice, heat, ibuprofen gel etc. It’s slowly getting better but I noticed that restarting C25K this week is aggravating it. Has anyone had a similar experience? Any tips? Many thanks everyone! 💪😊

Hello!

Well, I had a quick look around and only came up with the same sort of thing you have been doing to ease the pain..

nhs.uk/conditions/tennis-el....

Apparently any exercise can cause this if it is overstraining the joint.

Are you maybe holding your body tightly?

Try to relax your shoulders. make sure your fists are unclenched... imagine holding a bag of crisps in your hands...elbows at right angles, brushing your sides very lightly at hip height...

Then some gentle exercises afterward.?

Do let us know how it goes, please:)

Many thanks for this. I love the ‘holding a bag of crisps’ suggestion. I’ll give it a try. 😀

The idea is , not to crush them.. :)

I did make a reverence to relaxed running in a past post...

If you read through it... there is my check list for making sure I am relaxing..:) One or two folk have taken it on board now and finding it useful...
