Yes I am, but each watch has its own beta programme. Sometimes it's a good thing: new features early. Sometimes it's an awful thing: new thing breaks existing functionality.

If you want reliability, don't join the beta programme. On many watches you can't revert the software to the last "good" version.

(That said, the way they have been doing it on the 255/955 watches has not been great. The time allowed for testing has not been anywhere near long enough for any reports to get back to the software teams, and buggy software has had general release.)

Thank you Nowster, I thought that might be the case, I'll give it a miss.

yes, but I have a 945 which isn’t getting new features :-(. The updates just seem to be big fixes.

The 245 (which Curlygurly2 has) is in the same state.

The latest release version for both is 12.00:

Given the 245 and 945 first came out nearly 4 years ago, it's good that Garmin is still fixing things on them. Android phones tend to get abandoned by their manufacturers after two years.

My 245 doesn't seem old, surely these expensive watches should work longer than 4 years?

I have a Forerunner 235, released in 2015, which still gets software updates. (I also have a 245 music, which is the main device I use to log runs).

haven’t heard of it what’s the programme? I’ve got a Fenix 5s & Edge 820 and use a HRM.

Click on the watch icon on Connect, they'll tell you if your watch is included.
