It was so good to get out today. I woke up to a drizzly 12 degrees and was very happy. Only a runner can say that sentence 😂. After choosing short treadmill runs because of the icy pavements, and my abandoned run due to being ‘glutened’ I was looking forward to this milder week to get out and about. I coasted comfortably around my usual 5k route which felt good. The wind was a bit brisk and made me run on the spot a couple of times. On the home straight it was at my back which felt great, but a ‘pick up your dog poo ‘ sign blew off a lamppost and missed me by inches. How embarrassing that would have been if I’d been knocked over by a dog poo sign 😂😂
I listen to a 30 min run with Dina Asher Smith via the NRC app. It was inspiring as she talked about her embarrassing moments and not taking yourself too seriously. She talked about how professional athletes look glossy on the surface but they still have their set backs and bad moments as well as good. Dina often falls over 😂. I’d recommend it, walking or running it’s a good listen.
I’ve got 5 runs to do to complete my 12 days of Christmas challenge so I’m going to make the most of these lovely grey days 😊

Well done Frizzbomb67 - I am so relieved you didn’t write this with a bandaged head caused by a dog poo sign! I did the same as you this morning, was pleased to be able to run without the fear of skidding on ice 🧊. The warmer temperatures are very noticeable aren’t they! 😊😊😊
This really made me smile! So glad you didn’t get hit with that sign..,that would have been utterly !!! I almost got hit by a bin lid once while out for a walk and I had a very similar thought-didn’t want “MissU, killed by a bin lid” as my eulogy! Gave up and went home after that.
I’ll definitely look up that run. Thanks for the recommendation. I did the NRC run with Eliud a few months ago and loved it. The athlete stories are just great.
Really good luck with your runs and stay safe out there!
I realised this morning when looking for another NRC guided run, that there are 2 runs with Dina Asher Smith 🤦🏻♀️. The one I was referring to was ‘Highs and Lows’ with DAS. I did the other one today ‘Find your run’ with DAS which was still a good listen but not quite so inspiring. Both 30 mins which is great for a mid week plod 😂
