week 1 run 2 - a lovely evening

Yesterday was my rest day, so I went canoeing as usual for a Tuesday - and it was a perfect evening for a lovely paddle a few miles down the river to a nice pub!

Tonight, though, was time for run 2, so after dinner had settled I put Floofy on her lead and headed out to enjoy the light as it was starting to fade. We had the usual false start as after 2 mins of walking she has to faff around and eventually go to the toilet, but once that was done I restarted the podcast and off we went.

The runs seemed to go by quickly tonight - it seemed to take no time at all and we were suddenly on the last one! I’m trying to get out of the habit of counting my breaths as I run - I’d prefer to develop some better way of distracting myself so that as the runs get longer I don’t end up counting to 500… So tonight I played the game of ‘how far (or not!) will I get by the end of the 60 seconds. Further than I thought, apparently, although obviously not far at all 😄 But that’s ok.

my running may be at least as slow as ever, but tonight my walking felt a bit quicker, so that’s a nice bit of progress…

Roll on run 3 on Friday

Fantastic... it sounds to have been a good run! You sound like me, I count...if it is not 1,2,3,4..... then the paces between different bits, and timing myself when I am running nekkie!Slow is good...it really is, and it is of course, what keeps so, so many of us running... well done you!
