I am a teacher and am loving loads of wee short breaks at the minute so getting into a routine for running is difficult but Ollie and I managed the first run for week 3 today! VERY hot out there but we ran to a natural stream so he could get a drink at the top of the hill, then the run/walk back down was lovely.
Ollie is now pooped!!!

The heat is definitely taking its toll. The countryside here has loads of wee sheltered areas and a natural stream for Ollie so it was hot but bearable this morning. I hope your issue with your calves resolved itself. I don’t have any real advice and certainly I’m not qualified in any way to give any. Are you wearing different shoes this time or going on a harder surface? I’m looking for new footwear at the minute so any advice on this would be great.
I run / walk on a trail that has some shelter ( trees) but today is even hotter.
I am running in the same footwear, never an issue before. I love them actually, they were not cheap but I did a lot of research and tried them out in the shop on a treadmill. The brand is Brookes - I would do some research as different Brands and types suit different people depending on their gait etc... go to a really good independent sports shop, they should have tons of experience and give you the right advice
It was okay - even given the heat! I spend loads of walks/runs checking on Ollie so the time disappeared. As Jo said - you are ready for this! Can’t wait to hear how you get on.
