Consolidation Run 10

Today I did my tenth consolidation run. All ten have been 30 minute runs. I just about managed 5k once - which was amazing - the rest have been anywhere between 4 and 4.75k depending on the route I’ve chosen.

I’ve learned that flat seafront runs are easiest and give me more distance, but aren’t as much fun. Parks and green spaces with best for me. So need to build up my time to achieve 5k in those conditions.

I’ve been using the Nike Run Club app and their collection of 30 minute guided runs as my company - a good selection. I ran up a steep hill this morning listening to an amazing interview with Lopez and his running escape from kidnap in Somalia as a 6 year old. I finished my run in front of the pavilion and it was too beautiful a view not to take a photo.

What’s next?

I’m going to give the Couch to 5k+ podcast a go next - starting with the stepping stone and then trying the other two.

I’m going to give a Nike Run Club 5k guided run a try as well.

I’m going to sign up for a park run.

Well done.

If you are wanting to get faster, which it sounds as if you might, then you need to slow down 80 percent of your running, which is how you build stamina and endurance, not by running as fast as you can.

This FAQ Post about getting faster may be helpful healthunlocked.com/couchto5...

Have fun.

All sounding very positive:) Well done you!

Maybe shake the runs up a tad now. Not just 30 minute runs?

IannodaTruffe has given you some great advice. Maybe do some short runs, some slightly longer, then some lovely longer runs, just see where you get to, ones:)

They are the ones that build everything up! Strength stamina distance and yes, eventually, speed!

The C25K + Podcasts, I feel are great. Don't be fooled. They are different and teach us an awful lot about our running and the discipline in our running too!

NRC runs, I have just found :) I love them. But... pick carefully :)

You have some great goals there... pop into Catch-Up Corner and share them with the forum friends in there please?

Thank you. Great advice.

I like the sound lovely loner see where you get to runs.

There are some more parks in my area that I can’t get to at the moment so I’d like to build up to a run that gets me there and at least part of the way back.

It’s been a great time for learning. And lots more to learn still.
