First 3 runs down post graduation 2x30mins 1x5k! 💪still feels hard and slow but haven’t given up! However, my left inside calf seems to be getting worse odd pain to describe and still hurts when walk maybe feels bruised! Don’t really want to stop because worried I’ll lose my progress so any advice would be appreciated! 🙈

Well done on reaching 5K!! Looking forward to reaching that goal. As for the pain... Not sure if the same... I get a pain that seems to be between calf and shin bone on inside of left leg. Appears to get worse the slower I go. I've had ongoing piriformis issue long before I started the programme so figured it might be a symptom and was in with physio on Tuesday this week. They reckon it's down to left hamstring being particularly weak (or noticeably weaker than right).

Main exercise I've been given is to lay on stomach with resistance band around ankles. Raise heel up to bum (or as far as it will go) and hold a couple seconds then back down. 3 sets of 10 reps for left, 1 set of 3 reps for right. Might be worth trying a set of 10 reps on each leg to see if you notice any difference but probably best to rest, maybe some ice and if it's persistent next run then try a physio as they can do a range of checks to help identify the cause.

Ooh ok yeah I’ll give that a go and I guess I might have to! Something’s not right I just spent 5mins kneeling and the pain after I get up was ridiculous! 🙈🙈thank you! :)

And good luck with reaching your 5k goal you’ve got this!! 💪💪I think it’s a mental more than physical goal so just don’t give up! 💪🤩

Well done on your 5k but remember, consolidation is not about adding distance .It's about sticking to 30 minutes runs for a few weeks untill they become comfortable.

It's about building strength and stamina and resistance to injury .

Pushing forward at this early stage often results in overuse injuries Which can strike out of the blue .

Take care
