1st park run / week 7 run 3. Little bit chuffed with myself 🥳

Hello lovely people. Hope your having lots of fun with the runs.

I’ve managed somehow to squeeze in all my runs this week - even managed to make run 3 my first ever park run.

I was SO nervous this morning. I almost talked myself out of it. And when I saw the volunteers at the start line I had to force myself to not turn around and go home.

I had such a good time though! The sun was shining, everyone was friendly, there wasn’t any sort of “competition” feel about it so I felt comfortable going at my own snail pace. Once I found my rhythm I managed to loose myself in the moment. The hardest part was definitely getting out of my door and getting myself there! If you’re thinking of doing it but like me a bit nervous - I’d say bite the bullet and just go for it!

I laughed so hard when I got my results text - I came 70th out of 81 with a time of 36 mins 12 seconds. Considering it’s my 1st attempt I’d say that’s not a bad effort at my snails pace. Shaved a few seconds off my average mile times, got a personal best (ok - not hard since it was my first time but let’s just take that as a win!) I am so proud of myself. Next time I have a kid free Saturday morning I’ll be back there for more!

7 weeks ago this would have been totally out of the question! I am amazed with my progress. Thank you c25k. I have hated this programme at times but it’s definitely worth sticking with! 6 more runs ‘til graduation. Rest day and a well earned lie in then onwards and upwards!

Happy running everyone

Well done to you Rainbow 2019 on completing run 3 of week 7 and also your first parkrun in a good time of 36:12, you should be very pleased with yourself on that wonderful achievement 🏃🏾 👍You have only 6 more runs until you graduate from C25K, nice what you say regarding people at parkruns, both volunteers and runners a very friendly to first timers at parkruns, good luck for your graduation run in a few weeks time.

Any time is a good time at parkrun, well done for going along, it’s great isn’t it? Fantastic invention and all run by volunteers, it’s a great thing to be part of, whether volunteering or walking or running.I hope you keep going.

Well done you! I’ve always wanted to try a parkrun, and I’ve just done week 7 run 3 so you’re an inspiration! X

Well done you. I can't go to my local park run as clashes with kids clubs. Amazing job.

Thats a shame. That’s partly why I won’t be going every week too. My sons football club is Saturday morning and I’d hate for him to miss it (my life wouldn’t be worth living lol). At least I’ve got the 1st 1 out of the way though so if I get chance to go again it’ll be less daunting.

I am currently on week 7 and planning to go and try a parkrun soon but my pace is so slow that at the moment it would take me around 42 mins to do 5K. I have looked at the results of my nearest one a d even the tail Walker beats that (though I know they would wait for me) - are they an unusually fast bunch?!
