Completed W1R3 as part of parkrun, following the walk/run intervals of the programme strictly but continuing with this until I'd done my 5k.
This morning, W2R1 was so much easier than W1R1... I can feel my cardiovascular system beginning to respond and I can breathe more easily already.
On the subject of breathing, it's this run on the app where Laura says to time your breathing to 4 steps in and 4 steps out. I have to say that I've never, ever been able to do that even at peak fitness. The pattern that works for me is 3 steps in and 2 out. That's my easy run pace and when I was running longer, I knew if I could keep to this breathing pattern I could carry on for miles and miles without any issue. It's an odd number because someone once told me that helped with stitch but I've no idea if that's true or not. But it's the pattern I've stuck with and it's become habit.
Anyhow, I won't bore you with updates after each run this time, but will stop in after the first run of each week to say hello.
