Once again for Christmas 2021 I invite runners for suggestions for suitable Christmas running songs with traditional titles changed a little, for example instead of Chris Rea Driving Home For Christmas, for runners that would be Running Home Christmas or Santa Clause is Coming to Town would be Santa Clause is Running to town, Mariah Carie All I want for Christmas is You could be All I want for Christmas is a pair of running shoes or Walking in the Air could be Running in the Air.
Oh Run all ye Faithfull! That's as n excellent choice. I'm tempted to convert the whole hymn. How about "The Runner and the Ivy". (It will include the line, "the runner bears the crown!")
I agree Al π. I usually go to the cathedral here for the morning Christmas service, and you get all sorts, from little old ladies to hungover dads. Itβs very special, and Iβm sure there will be runners in the congregation - but not everyone! π
I like that Cmoi, the 12 Days of Christmas reminds me that 2 years ago I set myself a task to run a 5K on the 5th day of Christmas which I ran but I wanted to run a 10K on the 10th day of Christmas, unfortunately it is the only run that I have never completed, I only managed to get to 5K, might try it again on the 3rd January 2022.
Do you remember Dexy two years I (hate to use this word) failed to run a 10K on the tenth day of Christmas, which is the 3rd January, believe it or not UpTheStanley sympathed with me replying to my post saying even he has occasionally not completed a run he had intended to run, I didn't try a 10K on January 3rd this year but I have now run 20/10Ks and hope to run my 21st 10K on the 3rd January 2022 which is the 10th day of Christmas.I like that, the first 5k, lol, the Christmas Carol The First Noel they say if sung in full has 33 verses, a sub 20 minutes runner could run a 5K in the time a singer could sing that Carol in full.
The 12K's of Christmas, my true love asked me to run a 1K on the first day of Christmas and every day another run on each day until a 12K run on the 12th day. Two years ago I tried to run a 10K on the 10th day of Christmas, unfortunately I only managed to get to 5K, hopefully next year I'll get that 10K run.
That's a brilliant idea, as a new runner that's a bit out of my reach for now but I've copied and pasted it and going to aim for next years challenge. Love it π€
A challenge for some runners, why not run to the 12 Days of Christmas, 1K on 25th December 2021 which is the first day of Christmas and increase the distance each day to run 12K on the 12th day of Christmas which is the 5th of January 2022.
