Good morning runners!

Been a while since my last post, been dealing with what felt like a rip in my right thigh, thought it would take a week of rest which turned into 4 or 5 weeks πŸ€¦πŸΌβ€β™‚οΈ

Popped back on here last night and read a post from Stone dragon and it reminded me of what I was missing!

So today was the day to get back out there!

I managed 3km in 16:44 before everything started to hurt 🀣🀣 decided to call it a day and not risk injuring anything else on day 1. It felt good to be back πŸ’ͺ🏻

Life wise things are going well, family is all good, dog and pups are doing well and I've changed companies at work and got on a new project which is unfortunately all southern based for now so working away from home is going to be the norm for 2022 I'd guess πŸ€·πŸΌβ€β™‚οΈ needs must, it's more money and need to get back on track after the disaster of 2021 🀣(earnings wise)

I hope everybody is well, I'm gonna try to get on here more and catch up with everyone, the running schedule me be weird for a while but gonna have to do it in my free time and maybe start taking kit away with me to work πŸ€”πŸ€£

An average pace of 5'35"/km is hardly an easy run for your first one back after 5 weeks!

Take care!

It felt slower but your right, should force a slower pace πŸ‘ŒπŸ»

Welcome back Jericho2332! A sensible decision not risk more injury, which will hopefully give you the oomph to keep it up!

Well done Jericho 😊, that’s a pace and a half! Bet it felt great to run again 😁😁😁.

Thanks Frenc, it felt great! Up until the pains started I fully intended to keep going for 5k, not risking it though. Steady build up over next few weeks seems the sensible plan, stop if any pain kicks in.

Ah that sounds just the plan. I’ve found that with running it’s the one exercise I’ve done where I actually do have to listen to my body - it usually knows better than me 😁. You should throw your kit in your bag when you’re down south and have a few different runs!

Well done on getting back out there Jericho and to think I was the nudge that got you back out the door (after how slack I've been for most the year). πŸ’ͺπŸ‘

That is really speedy too - my runs are normally just sub 7 mins a km (my last was 6'40") so you were motoring! ⚑

Glad you enjoyed it though, good to have you back in the game 🦌🦌

Cheers pal, yeah was the kick in the butt I needed πŸ€£πŸ‘πŸ» I can do sub 5mins but don't think il be attempting that anytime soon 🀣

The target is 5 sub 5 min Kms so I can break 25mins for 5k. Been really close once!

At the minute though settle for steady and pain free πŸ€žπŸ»πŸ‘πŸ»

My guess is that I'll break through 25 minutes some time next year if I keep active. I'm currently at just over 27 minutes.

But I'm in no hurry to do it. I won't chase the pace. Every time I've done that I've got injured.

Yeah I'd say your well on course πŸ‘πŸ» it is a tough pace to maintain for the full 5km, think il save next try until when the good weather returns next year! 🀣

I wondered where you were. Now I know. Poor you. Hope the injury and pain is further subsiding and that you’ll be back on full form ASAP. Take care.😊

Thanks Gail, had a better run the day after this one. Managed 5k without pain. Had 2 days break since and will be heading out for a run in the morning before going off to work away again for remainder of the week.
