Planning to start tomorrow with a mate, how can we both run but have the timings synced?

Press 'play' at the same time?

Countdown: 3-2-1- PLAY!!!

I've done exactly that for a listening exam. Whoever put interactive whiteboards on each side of the connecting classroom wall was an idiot. Probably a good idea for wiring, but a disaster for actual teaching.

Press play at the same time is likely how it will go, I was just thinking "there must be an app for that".

Welcome to the forum and well done on your decision.

Only one of you needs to hear the instructions then tell the other.

This guide to the plan is essential reading healthunlocked.com/couchto5...

and includes advice on minimising impact, stretching after every run, hydration and strengthening exercises, all of which will help.

Enjoy your journey.

When we first started we wore one ear bud each, which was fine until Willow got to far in front and lost his signal, more recently we’ve been running with a friend and we’ve started the app at the same time, a few seconds difference has been fine

That was my thinking, it's ok if you are both at the same pace, but if you aren't then it adds confusion. You would have to shout down the street to your partner to start running again 😅

Yes lol, we’ve worked out over time as long as we start together and end together we are ok, when we restarted with a friend she’s a lot younger and faster and it was fun keeping up with her and realising we could but as the runs got longer it was harder to keep up, now we listen to our own music and I generally run for longer but Willow is usually happy to wait

If you are running together, then it needs to be at the easy conversational pace of the slower runner.........just gasping the odd word means too fast.

If you think you are going to get separated, just start the app at the same time.

Bah ha haaaaaaaaa

My mate and I just started the app at the same time. That way, we could go at our own comfortable pace.

Run side by side with phone in one person’s pocket, loud enough so you can both hear.
