One run left before graduating! I first started with a C25K app that was free for the first 4 runs. Then I found the NHS podcasts and continued with that and I’m so glad that I did. I found the first four and a half weeks difficult but doable. On W5R3 I found I couldn’t do the twenty minutes straight. I had been reading the posts that said to slow down, and I did, but it wasn’t until someone posted a link to a YouTube video by a man in Japan showing how to slow run that I understood that I was still going too fast for me.
After watching that video and slowing way down, I was able to complete weeks 5, 6, 7 and 8. Now, in week 9, I have run for 30 minutes straight - twice!
At the start of summer I decided to challenge myself with C25K, not knowing if I could succeed. I followed the podcasts and read a lot of the helpful posts here. Now, in two days time, I am confident that I will be successful and graduate. I am grateful to have found this site and so very proud of myself for getting this far!
It’s an incredible feeling
