Graduate Round 2

So I've made it to the end for the 2nd time now πŸŽ‰πŸ˜πŸŽ‰

For some reason last time I graduated I lost all motivation very quicky but I think I've figured out why.....I personally think I chased that elusive 5k to quickly and had lots of bad runs which in turn made me want to give up.

Im not a slow runner I don't think, I'm just not 5k in 30 minutes fast. So my new goal is to keep up the running 3 times a week over the summer holidays mainly to keep my sanity but I'm hoping my fitness will improve even more too.

I'm going to stick at 30 minutes, no distance measuring just the 30 minute run is all I'm after. And when I'm in a good routine and starting to feel comfortable il start measuring the distance again.

I did track my last run in the program tonight and I'm at 4.4 and that was all in I had nothing else to give.

Watch this space 5k in 30 minutes I'm coming for you.....but you'll have to be a bit more patient this time round.

Graduated again πŸ˜³πŸ˜πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰

Congratulations on your graduation. I realised that I’m not going to be a 5k in 30 mins runner. After graduation I just kept focusing on running for longer and i got to 5k in the end. Don’t put too much pressure on yourself. Keep enjoying it and keep that sanity! πŸ€ͺ

Hey Jessie, congratulations on completing the c25k! I completed it a little over 5 weeks ago. I have mapped out a run that is 5.6k all in (includes 5 mins warm up walk) I do this run at least once a week (still haven't managed to run it all 🀭) but each time I run it I get a bit further in the 30 minutes. Then I complete it walking, my time hasn't improved much 52 minutes to 48 but I'm happy with that. My other runs I just do warm up, 30 mins running and 5mins cool down, I don't measure how far I go, I just do it. Good luck in your next chapter.

Well done jessieb887 - very few people reach 5k in 30 minutes at graduation, I didn't. It's recommended that graduates consolidate and run for 30 minutes 3 times a week this gets you into the habit of running, also you may want to do the 12 week consolidation plan that incorporates running with a strength and flex workout. I find doing something new keeps me motivated.

Keep up the good work.
