Well I'm happy to say that the motivation to keep on running after graduating is still there 😊

I did a little a 20 minute run with wind and rain β˜” no idea what distance and a 30 minute 5k run in glorious sunshine 🌞 Which got me thinking about future runs in the cold β„οΈβ˜ƒοΈ Brrrrrr! What to wear? Any advice would be very useful 😎

The photo is of one of our event spaces where we had a beautiful wedding yesterday πŸ’’ It was a very long day which started with my run, then home and changed. Then get the venue dressed and ready for the wedding ceremony πŸ’ followed by organising the caterers and redressing the venue for the wedding breakfast πŸ–πŸ—πŸ§€πŸ₯˜ then organising the band🎡🎸🎹🎷🎺🎀 and Djs for the evening do on the other side of the building ready for the evening eventπŸ•ΊπŸ’ƒπŸΎπŸ₯³

I managed a whopping 24,000 steps between 10am and 3am 😲

Had a lovely day off today with my husband and friends and went antiques shopping ☺️

Hope you've all had great weekend, whatever you've been doing! xxx

Great running! Lovely flowers at your venue too. No advice about running in the cold except that I love those tops with the thumb holes! 😁

Thank you! I got up a silly o'clock on Friday and went to the flower maket, then inbetween my teaching I was constructing the flower sculptures πŸ˜‚πŸŒΈπŸŒΉπŸŒΊπŸ’πŸŒΌ

I like the idea of running in something very lightweight but warm and something you can quickly take off mid run if needs be 😊

You've been very busy and still fitting in your runs. The photo is lovely. Well done you 😊

As for running in the winter I had an extra layer on the top half as I still sweat even when it's cold

I'm always busy πŸ˜‚ Never a dull moment 😜 and every day is different 😊 Just like my runs 😁

I did warm up very quickly on the 20 run, but I did get soaked and my hands were quite cold πŸ‘

Hope you're well Buddy xxx

A quiet day then? πŸ˜‚ Beautiful flowers. You’re very talented lady. All that wedding prep and a 5k run. Phew!

This post graduation running is wonderful, isn’t it? No pressure to tick any boxes - just get out and enjoy it.

I was wondering about cold weather clothes too.

I hope you had fun on your day off and bought lots of antiques. Xx

I absolutely love doing the flowers! But not so keen on getting up at 5am to go to the flower maket 😩

I bought some chairs which will need to go into the workshop for a bit of a clean and polish and a couple of mirrors which will either go somewhere around the building or be sold 😊

I've enjoyed the last couple of runs! Didn't really look at the time! Just turned around when I wanted to and listened to the radio πŸ“»

I want something lightweight, windproof and waterproof, that can be taken off easily and tired around my waist, that doesn't flap around πŸ˜‚ And some gloves πŸ‘

Hope you've had a lovely weekend Puppy-love xxx

Wow you’ve had a very busy weekend ! And you found time to run too ! Well done πŸ‘ I neeeed to fit them in sometime this week 😬

AliHCGraduate in reply to Mark1909

Busy! Nah! That was a standard day 🀣

I was quite worried about the motivation to do the runs after graduation actually. I think it was because there was no goal and no programme to follow. But saying that, I found that I just got up and made time and enjoyed the freedom 😊 But I do think I need to set myself some goals πŸ€”

Hope you get out to do your runs this week! Take care x

Haha yep - I can can relate to that - not enough hours in the day.....

I agree that’s the next hurdle is having motivation. But I’m thinking that as I’ve seen my 1 mile and 2 mile times come down, so I’m psychologically setting my self to do the next three weeks of no more than 30 mins each run to get used to running for that time and seeing what happens? I’m hoping my distance with increase gradually as my speed improves. All this, work and a visit to mothers to fit some new skirting board too hahaha ! Good luck with your runs too ! Enjoy and take care Ali X

Don't talk to me about skirting boads 🀣 Over the last 20 odd years I've become an accidental expert in 10 inch torus skirting boards πŸ˜‚ We've probably laid 5 kilometers of skirting boards in our Victorian factory and warehouse 😩

Oh wow ! Haha 🀣Now I know this that your a font of knowledge and had so much experience with skirting boards - how are you fixed Friday morning ? (Between runs) Lolz 😝😝

CongratulationsπŸ‘° 🎩 !! Doing all that and fitting in πŸƒβ€β™‚οΈ as well?! 😧 have you got Mr AliHC πŸƒβ€β™‚οΈ yet?

Good question re the πŸ₯Ά weather clothing and I imagine something many of us C25K summer students/graduates don’t think about.....until it starts getting a bit darker and colder!

I’ve been looking at πŸƒβ€β™‚οΈ coats since my πŸƒβ€β™‚οΈ addiction took hold and Mrs D has said she might buy me one for my birthday....though that’s November so might be too late by then!

😊I didn't get married. It was a someone else who booked our venue for their wedding. But amongst other things, I do all the flowers, event managing, etc on the day.

My husband would love to run again but has back problems, so his discipline has been Tai Chi πŸ₯‹ for the last 25 years.

🀭 has sorry must have misread that! Currently on holiday so head in unwind mode! πŸ™„

What a beautiful job you did on the wedding venue. It looks stunning.

I recently bought a windproof jacket from Decathlon. I start off cold but warm up then tie it around my waist.

On Sunday morning, I did Week 4, Run 3 at Millhouses Park not realising there was a serious race going on - 7.5k. I felt such a fraud seeing all these fit people making their way to the starting line.

I was in quite a bit of pain with my shins and could hardly move my legs. My sister shoots off in front of me and I feel like I'm useless. I still finished the run but wondered if I should have stopped due to the pain but I'm quite stubborn.

Anyway, re the clothing. I've read thst layers are the best thing. Decathlon do have some cheap jackets at the moment.

Ah well done with Week 4! You're doing great! Don't tell me you did the whole 7.5k!? I'm not sure about the pain in your shins? I'm sure other people on here will be more knowledgeable?

Thank you re: the flowers πŸ’

I'll take a wander down to decathlon this week ab see what they've got 😊

Keep up the good work! xxx

in reply to AliHC

πŸ˜†No way near fit enough to tackle 7.5k. There were big signs saying "Beware. Runners" then little old me doing the Japanese Slow Running technique with a pained expression on my face.

I iced my shins yesterday and I've got a massage roller. Hope this helps because I don't want to take a break now that I've finally got the motivation to carry on. I'm going to take it extra slow from now on. You sound as though you're doing really well with it. 24,000 in one day too - that is amazing 😊 xxx

We had a wedding half a week ago... Decided to stick with budget wedding venues from this list poptop.uk.com/birmingham/ve... and the service was great, fortunately. Can't believe we got through this.
