When I started the programme I used to walk up the (not very steep) hills so that I could run down them in the running part. Now I am able to keep running up those hills at the start of my 30 minutes.
What has not helped? Thinking about the chronic cough that started me on C25k and convincing myself running was making my chest hurt. FYI, it wasn’t it was just an excuse on about wk 5 to stop (the only time I did).
More important, what has helped. Trusting the programme! Believing I can do it. Listening to Eddie Izzard's autobiography while running. Apart from his invaluable message about believing you can do things he made me laugh! One of my favourite bits was talking with sports psychologist about how much is about attitude. They started with 70% mental 20% physical. Then 80% and 20%. Finally decided it’s 90% mental and the rest is in your head!
Can I just finish this by saying if I can run for 30 minutes most other people can too.
Thank you everyone for all the support and encouragement along the way xxx
