How fast does the fitness go?

I'd managed the first two runs of week four before an enforced hiatus of a month. I have since tried to complete week four but the running fitness has all but evaporated. I've had practice runs and hope that I can succeed at the fourth attempt. I will get there!

As stated in the guide to the plan, healthunlocked.com/couchto5... you lose no significant condition in the first two weeks of non running.

After that loss of condition is gradual.

All any of us can do after a lay off is to go out and see what we can comfortably manage, then build back up gently, using C25k or something similar as a guide to weekly increase.

I'd suggest dropping back to Week 3 for at least one run. Week 4 is quite a big increase over the previous weeks of the scheme, especially if you're starting again from a month off.

I struggled but one more "practice" on Wednesday and, hopefully, complete week four on Friday
