Am. On w8 R1 (completed today) and I find I'm struggling to get enough oxygen during my runs which I fear may be slowing me down! Any advice?
Also I feel like I can't really run faster than perhaps a light jog (as suggested by Sarah during my runs)? I felt I went a bit faster today but hills are a struggle!
Are the 2 connected? 🤔 Xo

Hi, if you can't breathe then you are going too fast !You should aim to slow jog at a pace where you could talk full sentences without gasping for breath
The way to define the pace at which you should be running is by your ability to speak aloud, clear, ungasping sentences as you run.......if you cannot, you are going too fast.
This pace, as pointed out in the guide to the plan, is the optimal pace to develop your aerobic base. Going faster is not going to get you fitter quicker.
Thanks everyone! Will definitely slow down a bit even though it seems counter intuitive! 😂Yes I take rest days don't worry! Have taken it up to 2 because of a previous calf injury (which seems better now!) but perhaps I can go back up to every other day?
