Arch Pain

I’ve just finished my Week 6 Run 3, meaning I ran for 25 minutes continuously. I am so so chuffed! 🎉

Whilst running for longer lengths of time than the beginning of the programme, I am noticing that my arches are hurting more and more. Quite often, I’m very close to stopping but I never have yet. I’m worried that I’ll injure myself even more if I continue to run on the arch pain.

About 6 years ago, I had tendonitis in both feet but after the pain went, I thought I had recovered. However, as of late, the pain in my arches is making me question this.

I’ve also heard it could be due to lack of supportive running shoes? But how do I know what support I need. I’ve heard the term ‘gait analysis’ thrown around but is this relevant? Also, what is that?

If you are not wearing proper running shoes fitted after a gait analysis at this stage then that is highly likely to be the cause of your issue. This post about buying running shoes will help

healthunlocked.com/couchto5... it also contains a link to an article about gait analysis.
