Day off w5r1

Hello everyone! Tomorrow I’ll be running my second run in the 5th week. I’m a bit nervous. Took a day off and walked around the lake where I usually run. Reeding your comments about the runs help me to visualise my progress. I actually can’t believe I’ll be running 20 mins nonstop at the end of the week.

Sending positive vibes to everyone!

Well done on your progress.

Nerves are counterproductive, so relax and read this post about mental approach healthunlocked.com/couchto5...

You can do this.

I've just completed my 2nd run on week 5 and I thought I could never run for 8 min ! It really was mind over matter , I was thinking I wasn't going to be able to do it and all of a sudden Jo kicked in saying I was already half way through the first run and I realised I could do it ..it's amazing how the programme gets you ready for it !💪👍 I think the first few minutes are the worst for me until I get my pace and breathing sorted out and then I'm ok ... I just slow down and listen to my music 🎶 good luck xx

The first few minutes of any run is known as the Toxic Ten, explained here healthunlocked.com/couchto5... and exists for all runners........so no point pushing hard.
