I am so deflated! I cannot do run 3 week 6 25 min run. I simply don’t understand how I managed to run for 20 min in week 5 and now all of the runs in week 6 I have found so hard

You are doing great... I found week 6 the first time round tough as the first 2 runs were a lot less time... On run 3 try reducing your pace or try and break it into 5 minute chunks... Do you listen to music? I switched to podcasts and found that easier to forget about the time... You can do 25 minutes it may just take a bit longer for your brain and legs to agree!! 😁

Hi thanks for this. I have just come up and failed the 25 mins again although I know it is mainly my Brain that is failing me. When jo says that’s five mins done I can’t believe it is only five mins and I still have twenty minutes to do!!! This does me mentally no good at all. Today I did better but still rubbish! I managed to run halfway but again felt so deflated that I was only halfway through my brain gave up on me. I stopped walked for two mins and then managed another five mins but once again gave up. I then decided to do some interval running at a faster pace walking and running but running for eight mins. So I did the 25mims my way sadly and not how I should have!

Do not beat yourself up about not achieving 25 minutes continuous run yet... Some people it takes a while there are more experienced runners on here who will say go at your own pace... If you can do W6R2 with 2 x 10 minute runs which is already much better than a lot then do that a few times before tackling the 25 minutes or you could try 15 minutes have a couple of minutes walk and do 10 minutes... I really think its mental rather than physical.. it took me ages to get the motivation/ willpower to start running again.... If you can listen to something to distract you from the time you have to run that may help? I listen to podcasts - runpod with jenny falconer or rich roll podcast for inspiration.. Just keep going you will do it..

Thanks for being so supportive. I am sure that I will get there one day but it is just so hard. Although I hang on to the fact that when I first started one minute was hard

exactly hang on to every little achievement...one little step forward every time...😁...just keep going...my old mantra used to be slow and steady one step at a time which worked the first time i did C25K...its slightly changed now as i think everything is about overcoming the mental challenges of doubt, insecurity and lack of motivation...enjoy your day I'm looking forward to your post when you break the 25 minute barrier

Hi how are you getting on? I'm up to the same stage as you now, did W6R2 this morning and found the 10 minute runs tough..probably shouldn't have started by going up a hill!!😂...planning to have a go at the 25 minute run on Thursday or Friday if you want a bit of support from afar if you planning to have another go...have a great day. Paul.

Try slowing your pace down - I found that I was starting too quickly and then struggled, but taking it a bit easier got me used to running for a longer amount of time.

No, no, no. You absolutely can do it, you just haven’t realised it yet. Don’t worry, there is no pressure. Just take as many attempts at that run as you need, you will get there. Just take it slow, breathe, make sure you’re hydrated, and you’ll get there
