Well it’s been a while since I posted on this community. I have done a few runs since I last posted, but nothing since Christmas and with the gyms now shut again and the weather cold, wet and miserable I had absolutely no motivation to get my running shoes back on.
The last couple of weeks I had been starting to get the itch to try again and yesterday I finally went out and did it. It was very cold and muddy but I didn’t look at the clock and just ran to see how I felt and when I thought I want this to be about halfway I turned back (the track I run on goes for miles!). Managed 16 minutes in total and I actually think I could of pushed an extra few minutes so I think i’m going to aim for 20 next time. I’m so pleased I haven’t completely lost everything I worked for last year I just need to get my mojo back and my confidence back with running!
One thing I noticed was how cold my hands were! If anyone knows of any good gloves that aren’t going to make my hands too sweaty please let me know. Hopefully the weather will be getting warmer soon and I won’t have to wrap up so much!
Couch to 5K is an amazing programme and has got me this far, i’m now going to start uping the time little by little and get me back to the 30 minutes!

Brilliant to hear from you again. And well done on a fantastic run! The good weather seems to have pushed all of us outside again - finally - but I started the programme again a couple of weeks ago. I’m loving getting out there and feeling the buzz of finishing a run.
As usual this forum is full of amazing people encouraging me to keep going.
Thank you! I had made it into such a big thing in my head and convinced myself I was going to have lost all my fitness but it really wasn’t as bad as I expected, I just focussed on my route and didn’t look at the time once so I had no idea how long i’d done!
I’m so looking forward to the nicer weather and being able to get out more. I have really missed that buzz of finishing a good run! Whereabouts are you on the programme now? Best of luck with it - it really is amazing!
