Welcome to the forum and well done on your progress.
Only a small proportion of graduates from this forum who responded to a poll, managed 5k in 30 minutes by graduation healthunlocked.com/couchto5....
Graduation requirements are that you complete three thirty minute runs, regardless of distance.
This guide to the plan is essential reading healthunlocked.com/couchto5...
and includes advice on minimising impact, stretching after every run, hydration and strengthening exercises, all of which will help.
Enjoy your journey.

As IannodaTruffe says, don't focus on 5k - just focus on running for 30 mins 3 times a week by week 9. 5k will come - I did 2 more weeks of 30 min runs after graduating before pushing on to 5k runs, which by that time felt like a very natural progression.
