I started this 7 weeks ago and have learned so much from this forum.
Firstly, go slowly, really slowly, you can always speed up for the last bit of the last run.
Secondly, drink lots every day, especially the day before and just before you run.
Also I always go first thing in the morning before I have time to change my mind. I put my running clothes on the radiator and put them straight on before my eyes are really open. Everyone has a different timetable though so just need to find what works for you.
Fourthly (are we on 4?! 🤦♀️) listen to the programme - it works, it really does - I couldn’t run for a minute 7 weeks ago and now I run for 25 (admittedly I was a wreck yday but that’s my fault for not drinking water/getting enough sleep, etc).
Lastly, be prepared for the odd run that isn’t great but these will be banished to the back of your memory by the runs that are AMAZING and when you are so PROUD of yourself you could hop, skip and jump the 5 minute warm down walk (yes I have really done that 🤣)
Good luck and check back in here just before you run for some inspiration and support 👍🏼
Don’t do too much too soon. Don’t worry about other people, (everyone started somewhere) don’t worry if u have to rerun a week. But most of all enjoy the run as if it becomes a chore you’re less likely to finish it.
Thanks some good tips drinking water is something I am really poor at and think I would be better going first thing in the morning so I don’t talk myself out of it .Going to spend most of my day on the this app and get my self organised x
