Chest problem

Hi folks, I’ve rerun Wk 7 twice after a 2 week rest due to a calf sprain.

However, last week I started to experience an ache in my upper chest, traversing across my sternum, and to a lesser extent in my biceps.

Anyone got any ideas??

( I ran W8R1 this morning, my best pace yet but still got the ache !)

I'd suggest you get that checked out ASAP if not sooner.

It may prove to be muscular, but it could be the warning signs of something far far more serious.

Well done on your progress.

Are you carrying anything in your hands? This can often be the cause of muscular tensions in arms, neck, back and chest. Hands should be unclenched and relaxed when running.

We are not medically qualified, for the most part, and if your symptoms persist, please consult your GP.

Try easing back the pace. You should be able to hold an ungasping conversation as you run.......if you cannot, you are pushing too hard.

Hopefully it is just muscular - it probably means you need to do some strengthening exercises. But best to get it checked first.

Never ignore or write off chest pain as muscular or heartburn without getting it checked out. My ‘heartburn’ six years ago was cured with a quadruple cardiac bypass.

Let an expert check it and reassure you properly.

I agree with NotPrime. Best to get it checked out. You’ll be glad you did for peace of mind👍😀😀
