I've just completed week run 3 and feeling super proud of myself. I totally appreciate there's a long way to go but I'm surprised that after a lifetime of convincing myself that I can't run, that I actually can. While some people have those dreams where they can suddenly fly, mine was always that I'd start running like Forest Gump! Well, it's still more of a shuffle than a running stride but now I'm putting one foot in front of the other which is a massive improvement from where I was when I started....and even going out in the freezing conditions.
Week 4 to come which I'm sure is going to be challenging but my mindset is slowly changing. I'm so looking forward to having the confidence to run 'in public' and being able to really enjoy the great outdoors.
I must say, this forum is such a great support knowing that so many others face the same struggles.
