New month, New home, New Running route!

Finally starting to feel like I am recovered from the glute problems which started week of Xmas. I attempted a few recovery runs during January with many rest days between. We sold our home last week and moved into another we bought on the weekend. That was an exhausting couple of days. So now I live in a flat suburb near a river and can walk out my door and do my exercise. We used to live in this suburb 20 years ago and I jogged regularly back then too. There is a lovely 5km track around the river however as I go in the early morning on my own I am sticking to the streets for safety reasons until I gauge how many other people like me are out and about (there looked like there might be a few). Sadly a few months ago a woman was attacked and raped a bit further up the river when she was out for her early morning walk, makes me so angry. Anyway, glute did well today. Still making sure I am running slower than I was pre injury, but today’s pace was 7,25 per km which is a bit quicker than last weeks attempt, and I managed a 30 minute run. I jogged out onto the walk bridge which overlooks the weir and paused for a few seconds to take a photo of the river, lovely in the morning light. Oh, also we have a swimming pool at our new house so when I got home I was stripped down to underwear and straight in for some cool down and gentle swimming...I loved it!

Well done for your 30;minute run! You must be relieved that your glute problems seem to have gone. Makes sense to keep an eye on your pace for a while. That blue sky is gorgeous! Your new place sounds great with the running routes outside your back door - and you have a pool! How wonderful to jump in the pool after a run in the heat. Stay safe on those routes.

HiYou Glutes obviously need some exercise other than running.

I have found Donkey Kicks help as a good strengthening exercise.

Good luck.
