New Route, Crashed App, but No Worries! (W8R3)

So, we decided a beach front run was in order just to change things up. Changing route made such a difference, not knowing where we should be at every step meant we were more relaxed than usual. Endorphins kicked in and we were chuckling, yes, you heard right, chuckling on our run. MJ abandoned us (prob my fault as I was messing about with the phone camera to get a pic for this post!), but we weren't worried, no panic, no mental calculation just decided to check Strava...in a bit. So we ran 29 mins which wasn't bad considering were had nothing to go on given our new route. For once we were both happy with our performance and I was glad we slowed it down again to avoid aggravating my old recurring ski injury.

I also invested in support sleeves for my knees and tonight was the first run in, they were ok but I did wonder if they were causing some hamstring pain which I hadn't had until tonight πŸ€”

Still got 4.3K in our time slot even with slowing down. Wished I'd also tracked the walk back though as it took around 30 mins and was quite hilly. Possibly got just as good a workout from that!

A good, boring run, just what we want before graduation week. High points were a duck fishing and pulling funny faces at each other when the endorphins hit - they'd sell that stuff if they could only bottle it!!!

Lovely spot for a run! Week done, you're on the home stretch now! X

Scary stuff! It's flown by. Now I'm wishing is squeezed in more strengthening exercises on rest days.

Looks like a beautiful place to run! Odd coincidence that we both had the app crash on us today!

in reply to thegirlfrommarz

Indeed. I've had a few crashes and changed to podcasts at one point as it was frustrating in the bitty runs where we were walking and running for short times as it was quite difficult to figure out mid-run.

Well done! So jealous of that view. Although i live in lovely countryside I love the sea...wish I could run there every day. Good luck with your last week πŸ‘πŸ˜Š

We are lucky. We have countryside at home but driving distance to the beach and walking distance to a rocky beach and inlet. Spoiled, you could say!

I’m intrigued by running in winter - what to wear??! My runs have been better when it’s been cooler too. This heat gets to me so quickly!

in reply to Ripcurlrana71

I'm not sure about it...brrrr! It'll probably just be a case of getting the right gear and getting through a warm up. It'll be an experience I guess 😨🌨

I wish I had a beach to run along or next to! In three weeks I will have a week in Pembrokeshire with coastal runs to look forward to!

in reply to Ang33333

Take care if you decide to run along the sand. Not so good for your ankles due to the uneven footing. You'll be counting down the weeks then. Enjoy! πŸ–

Well done Sutsha, just one week to go! Sounds like it was one of those good runs, that make all the difference :)

It truly was Hoagy. One where everything went well and we are confident we'll do W9's 30 minutes.
