Ok say it as you see it Ian, this morning I'm "pooped" not running induced, just that nightshift slog. But digging deep, I hauled ass from bed to run, whaaaaaat yes.
Overslept a tad so that cut down faff time a bonus of sorts, and I didn't wanna be late as I'd arrangements to run virtually with vrb acountrycabbage π₯³ though ok I'll admit that heatwave she mentioned, hmmmm not in Wales π suncream not needed drat π.
I'd dug into the depths of my not at all organized running kit drawer for brighter colours..... Told ya I could do a bright mismatch Jools2020, I wasn't out as early as you, I missed ya perhaps tomorrow π€.
Shall we go running π, it's ice free on our lane and a nice gentle run down to meet the main Llangollen road, only a brief tarmac joggette as the trail gate soon comes up.
Last time it was rock hard and frozen. Not so today, more green and nicely sprung underfoot it's definitely kinder on the limbsπ belows a brief link about running off road and other get you motivated bits from runners World!

Back to the run, I will get up that 1st climb today, short strides, and a little lean into it, we're going up damn it I amπͺ LEG BURN god I love/hate π§ Mummycav for the record I'm back on the canal side tomorrow, guaranteed!
Well if the first climb was steep, I have no words to describe the next section, perhaps Chris Bonnington would describe it better, I ran where I could, when running was impossible, I walked it, garmin pauses automatically if my pace drops too much and it gave me a nudge twice!
SNOW must be the elevation yep cold chilly toes it's not slippy, just cold n fluffy, quite easy to run in, the brooks cascadia today's shoe had done everything I've asked of it so π for brooks.
Eventually after not getting lost π€« through a hole in the hedge I found the lane above my house, a long way above btw, it's one sheet of ice, a gradient making even standing impossible, the council declaring it's unsafe to send their staff to salt the road π€¦. Clinging to the road edge I edge back down, towards level ground at last. I will be on a flat run tomorrow I promise myself, the last 2 klm in and around the village towards home, were gentle, and relaxing, legs still spent from earlier work. Today for the record Rebecca the legs feel old π. Back on it tomorrow number 11 π I coming for you.
Home for stretches and a really hot shower I guess... Enjoy those weekend runs people, keep safe and healthy
Happy Running π
