It's still a RED January πŸ‘€

β€’32 Replies

The running continues, January the 8th run number 9 πŸ‘€ I was always pants at arithmetics 🀣, this could be you next year 9weeks2runπŸ‘ never say never (just get better asap pls)

After a whole day off yesterday, to do the family stuff and many teenager taxi journeys, it was a somewhat restful day away from work. Meaning this morning a fully recharged Ian threw on his mix-match Running kit, and it was a mix match.

Injinji toe socks

Ronhill two in 1 leggings/shorts

A marks and sparks long sleeve top

And Aldi hat n snood

Karrimor gloves away to go...

Chilly, with flecks of sleet perfect!

Lured to the towpath by Mummycav and her yesterday run I was on it πŸ‘.

Ok so slow an easy the legs are still turning ok I've never ran more than 3 days in a row, this is new territory πŸ€“.

So far so good... It's a mushy towpath towards the aqueduct, but it's safer than yesterdays run,( accompanied by a vrb acountrycabbage, those hills and slope's were requiring careful foot placement were a little dicey.....)

I'm not heading across but under and back up onto the opposite side, breathings easy but that cold air does take your breath. It's an empty canal today, no people's no ducks just me.

I felt good going into the 4klm and wanted a little more, why not. Looping off the towpath, it's a swap to the footpath and a gentle run down to the bridge at New bridge crossing the River Dee, the slight hill, allowing me to slow down and crack open the haribo fuel πŸ˜›.

Through very empty streets I head towards the opposite end of the aqueduct, the run is on a newly refurbished towpath with golden pea gravel the noise is sooooo captivating πŸ‘.

An empty visitor free Aqueduct brings up that 10klm and a final k towards home done!!! Where's that hot shower πŸ₯Ά.

Just read the Ron Hill story in my Runners World yikes his run streak was a mere 19032 consecutive days!!! I won't be going that long 🀣

Happy healthy safe Running all VRBs

Well done! πŸ‘

How is it number 9 if you had a day off?

Oh to be younger Bev 🀭

19032 days? That is 52 years! Freakish, did he not feel off 1 single day? I don't think I would even want that to be honest.

Nice pics!

Aye! I can't seem to do a full month of run-every-other-day without getting some problem, either minor injury or logistical.

Sometimes those niggles do occur, but I've learned not to run if it hurts!

β€’ in reply to

No he used to keep any ailments from his wife and sneak out and run,

β€’ in reply to

😳 I might be able to keep my ailments from soneone else, but not from myself. If I feel off, I feel off. Crazy guy! But I applaud him, he wanted something and went for it.

Great run along the towpath I know well, the Aquaduct is about mid way on a 10k route for me from St Martin's

β€’ in reply toInstructor57

I'm on the Welshness side, on the Pontcysyllte Aqueduct, the Chirk one is in england so currently out of bounds 😳 both brilliant to use as run routes

Good run for you today Imc50, if that is correct Ron Hill ran every day for about 52 years, is that a good example of fake news??? πŸ˜€

β€’ in reply toAlMorr

Nope far from fake AlMor he's still alive though his health is somewhat failing, he represented the uk at various olympics and commonwealth games

You should see my mismatched outfits πŸ˜‚ the running fashion police would arrest me on sight. Like you, I just wear what’s comfortable and appropriate for the weather. I do need more running clothes as I don’t have much, but I did buy a Proviz top this week, I love it!

β€’ in reply toJools2020

Yaaaaaaaay we love a mismatch Jools, if fits I'll wear it,πŸ‘€

Lol!!!

You are doing so well Ian it is brilliant, another great run and post.

How are your legs feeling not having a rest day?

My feet are itching to get out running, have been looking at my favourite website β€œSweaty Betty” looking at new running clothes to cheer myself up!!! I have been given a 50% discount code on one item so have my eye on a new jumper once I am better!!

Take care

Rebecca

β€’ in reply to9weeks2Run

The legs feel young Rebecca, I'd just read a post from Oldfloss, where she referred to your feet hitting the ground as kissing the earth, so that was my focus today, I like little pearls of wisdom you can pick up from other runners πŸ™‚.

I've heard great things about the "sweaty betty" brand, and you can never have too much!

Oooh, new running noises, love a gravel crunch! Golden pea? Sounds like a fancy type of qauil egg or something ☺️

Good to hear the legs are still feeling strong and you wanted to push on further today. Smashing it πŸ‘ŒπŸΌπŸ˜Ž
