Phew I can still run (just)

β€’29 Replies

20 days plus crikey call myself a runner 😬🀐.

Well today I remembered I loved running and I wanted to run, works been full on relentless trucks+farming it's an industry that keeps on going regardless of the whole covid lockdown scenario so I guess the fuel tank was running a little low on energy 😳.

I saw the eldest off to start her new term as in my era a 6th former but I believe now it's called yr 12 how time flies.......

So after breakfast I thought I want to run, so I did. Nothing fancy no targets in sight it was just a leg stretch to blow away the cobwebs.

Warm up stretches done I added a warm up walk little joggette and when feeling loose set off πŸƒπŸƒβ€β™‚οΈ.

Following the main Llangollen road and doubling back until the canal towpath, slightly congestion on the aqueduct but manageable, I looped around on to the Llangollen towpath and followed the lane back towards home...

And phew how glad am I that I did...

The legs still work thankfully

Sounds perfect. Sounds as if your career is a full time workout anyway. What a place to run, beautiful . Glad the legs are still working. Yes 6th form in my day as well !

Cheers Mrsrun the continuation from years as they now do it in school still befuddles me πŸ™ƒ, sometimes jumping out of bed squeezing a run before work is doable but of late it's been hard work..... But the energy levels from being outdoors have definitely increased and the canal was so calming πŸ™‚

Thankfully my lad is at uni now so I do not need to remember years or teachers names ! I have been an outdoors sort of person all my life , I love the feeling of the air and the sounds of nature. .... Unfortunately I love sitting down as well!.. You certainly have those energy levels ! One day I will follow in your footsteps and run along a towpath... Mind it may be like doing the hurdles with all the fishing rods!

Hurdling is definitely a bonus, it's all about judging the takeoff point 🀠, I binned all distracting noises and sounds as soon as I'd completed C25K I'd rather as they say run naked and disappear into my own space and just relax into the run πŸ₯°, but oh the armchair and the coffee can be a distracting factor.....

Congrats on getting back out there. If I recall correctly you used to be a monster at the 10K?! πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸƒ

That's still I guess my favourite distance, but I'll get a few comfy 5ks under my belt. I was hoping to have stepped up from 25k and continue that upwards curve and try to get somewhere near marathon distance by October in time for the VLM but that's looking like a no-no this year, but I've raised the sponsorship monies which people have still kindly said either give it in anyway or store it for next year..... So for now at least I'm still proud to be blingless πŸ₯³πŸ‘

I hope it goes well, and I will be looking forward to reading about your progress. (And becoming envious of your times once again! 🀣).
