Red January numbers 6 & 7 ๐Ÿฅถ

โ€ข21 Replies

The family have at last stopped asking why running everyday, it's because January is RED โœ….....

Yesterday in isolated wales, it's suddenly eerily quiet. The tumbleweeds a blowin, all we need is Clint Eastwood spitting chewing tobacco and the scene is set.

I'd thrown on the brooks ghosts and it was away, shorts, tee-shirt, gloves, buff and hat good to go. The stillness in the middle of the aqueduct was a powerful feeling. It's a chilly one I'm passed on the other side by a female runner wrapped like an eskimo and a very deep shade of red, over layering very evident ๐Ÿค.

I followed the same route along the towpath, and dropping down via the old mill ( same as my last 10k from December) I've a feeling a few routes will be reruns during January... But I'd have thought the lane would be without the flooded section, grrrr ๐Ÿ˜ฌ. Ok hop a gate, sticking with the edge of the field countryside code โœ… dodge the water nearly, the field was waterlogged hmmmm squishy... Home to dry another pair of trainers ๐Ÿคฃ.

Today I went for hills, frosty chilly chuffin cold hills, the squishy mud, gone, the ruts were hard knarled ground, the brooks cascadia doing a good job on this terrain. The elevation did require walking in sections, but hey it's pretty steep so even walking is a challenge. I looked for acountrycabbage and ๐Ÿ™‹โ€โ™‚๏ธbut it's just to far away to see you ๐Ÿคฆ.

Quick greeting with a dog walking neighbour he's wrapped up for the weather, I'm ok the thermostat is reading HOT ๐Ÿฅต.

Not being entirely sure of where I'd end up, it turn around time, run, slide back down and then track across country towards a home and hot shower, another one done ๐Ÿ‘ running is happiness ๐Ÿค“

Enjoy those runs people keep safe n healthy and be kind to yourself every run. Those of you unable because of injuries or illness..... 9weeks2run today was for you ๐Ÿ‘

That countryside and emptiness looks just fabulous and absolute run heaven, even if slightly tricky underfoot! As a city dweller, I am imagining the silence..how wonderful and restorative. Sounds like a joyful run ๐Ÿ˜€

Thanks Runforurlife, I imagine city running has its own attraction, you've got architecture etc instead of hills and sheep, both are brilliant in different ways ๐Ÿ‘

It does look beautiful there, although Iโ€™m not sure about those โ€˜hillโ€™ things. Iโ€™d love to be able to run every day, but as a new runner (less than 6 months since I graduated) Iโ€™m not there yet! Well done ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘

Jools2020 believe me the attraction in running everyday is a love hate one ๐Ÿคฃ. For your 6month adventure though your progress is brilliant ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ™‚

Looks and sounds a lovely area to run โ˜บ well done on run 7, any extra aches, with no rest days in between? ๐Ÿค”I feel like you, when running at the moment, with so many fellow runners, not able to get out, covid, and isolating, making the most of it, while i can! ๐Ÿƒโ€โ™‚๏ธ๐Ÿƒโ€โ™€๏ธ

in reply to Peter44

That aqueduct sounds like a pretty special spot ๐Ÿ˜

Sliding down the hills must really throw off your cadence stats?! โ˜บ๏ธ

I considered climbing one of my frosty trees to wave back but Iโ€™d already traumatised the squirrels enough so thought best not ๐Ÿ˜ฌ

Well done on another happy, satisfying run ๐ŸŒŸ

in reply to acountrycabbage

Tomorrow's a whole new run day ๐Ÿค“ it'll be an aqueduct run unless snowy as forecast !!

Happy Running CC

Definitely a challenge to go every day in this weather. As I said to Dexy, maybe RED April would have been better. Love the views to the hills ๐Ÿ˜
