The family have at last stopped asking why running everyday, it's because January is RED β .....
Yesterday in isolated wales, it's suddenly eerily quiet. The tumbleweeds a blowin, all we need is Clint Eastwood spitting chewing tobacco and the scene is set.
I'd thrown on the brooks ghosts and it was away, shorts, tee-shirt, gloves, buff and hat good to go. The stillness in the middle of the aqueduct was a powerful feeling. It's a chilly one I'm passed on the other side by a female runner wrapped like an eskimo and a very deep shade of red, over layering very evident π€.
I followed the same route along the towpath, and dropping down via the old mill ( same as my last 10k from December) I've a feeling a few routes will be reruns during January... But I'd have thought the lane would be without the flooded section, grrrr π¬. Ok hop a gate, sticking with the edge of the field countryside code β dodge the water nearly, the field was waterlogged hmmmm squishy... Home to dry another pair of trainers π€£.
Today I went for hills, frosty chilly chuffin cold hills, the squishy mud, gone, the ruts were hard knarled ground, the brooks cascadia doing a good job on this terrain. The elevation did require walking in sections, but hey it's pretty steep so even walking is a challenge. I looked for acountrycabbage and πββοΈbut it's just to far away to see you π€¦.
Quick greeting with a dog walking neighbour he's wrapped up for the weather, I'm ok the thermostat is reading HOT π₯΅.
Not being entirely sure of where I'd end up, it turn around time, run, slide back down and then track across country towards a home and hot shower, another one done π running is happiness π€
Enjoy those runs people keep safe n healthy and be kind to yourself every run. Those of you unable because of injuries or illness..... 9weeks2run today was for you π
