Temp is currently around 5°C, but winter still has to start. I currently wear a pair of loose training pants and at the moment that is warm enough for me. I do wonder if it will be enough when the temp goes sub zero.
So what is your opinion on these specific winter running pants? Are they in fact warm in sub zero temp? Are they warmer than a pair of loose training pants? Which pants do you prefer in sub zero temps? I see a few online, but which are good and not a waste of my money?
I have running leggings, but they are too thin for the cold weather. Hence why I now use loose training pants. I see there exist special winter leggings and my question is whether they are worth their money, if they are indeed warmer, etc.
Layers, definitely. When it was really cold one evening recently, I used "cold weather" leggings (which aren't that warm on their own) with mesh-lined running trousers over the top.
My legs tend not to get that cold when I'm running anyway. Arms and hands can get cold. Head and neck too. I tend to sweat a lot down my back. The layers on my top are mainly to transport the sweat away from the skin without letting the cold back in. I tend only to notice things getting chilly during the cool-down walk and the sweatiness when I'm back inside.
