Have a look on YouTube for eccentric heel drops and calf raises.

Higher drop shoes

Try gel heel cups and see if they help. If they do, get higher drop shoes, say 12mm.

Don’t run on it until it feels 100%, look up some gentle strengthening stretches from sports physios on YouTube or visit a physio if you can.

I had a bad injury because I ignored it and ended up 6-8weeks with no running and 3 I could barely walk.

After rest, physio and a new pair of good trainers (with gait analysis and saved pennies for them!! ) I am back to running.

As with running2feelGr8 I suffered with Achilles/calf injuries repeatedly that took me out for months. Their cautionary advice is spot on. The causes for me? I was very overweight, I didn't warm up enough and I did no warm down stretches (this last is more important than they're given credit for). So I lost weight, got physio (not cheap but well worth the money), rested (did low and non-impact exercising), got gait analysis and the associated appropriate shoes (not cheap but a bargain if the alternative is repeated injuries). Please take it seriously and you'll be glad you did. Good luck with your running!
