Yay! This time it all went to plan.

After my disaster of a run on Wednesday, today's run made up for it. My husband has a day off so he is doing the school runs today which allowed me to make an early start. A bit on the cold side but as I am now acquiring a nice selection of running gear that was not an issue. With no wind to speak of, a couple of thin layers is all I needed as they are warm enough when I start, but don't get too warm once I am going. I picked up some running gloves in a sale earlier this year so they got an outing today too.

A couple of icy patches that gave me a bit of a jolt when I hit them on my warm up walk but other than that a really enjoyable run. I did two laps of my 5K route and thankfully it was incident free. I managed the 10K in an hour and six minutes which must be one of my best. I don't always time my runs (I either forget check start or stop the stopwatch on my phone) but have been estimating about 1 1/4 hours on the few 10K runs I have done before. My time does vary quite a bit on my 5K runs, I have managed just under 30 minutes (by a couple of seconds) but can then do a 32 minute run the week after. I prefer to just run at a speed that feels comfortable and see how it goes as my attempts to change my pace (either slower or faster) do not really work out that well.

I finished my run and was please to have completed it. Definitely lifted my spirits getting a good run in, it is surprising much running does impact my mood. No sign of "Tom and Barbara" :) today as I guess it was a bit cold or early to be gardening.

Amazing! I was impressed by the 5k mentioned (being a 🐣🐥🎓), but then up popped 10k too. ✨

Btw I’m sure ‘Tom and Barbara’ will have been snug inside checking their seed catalogues. They might have looked up and pointed out the window (in admiration).
