Thanks to those who sent supportive messages - my mum's funeral over my root canal treatment successful and my tummy troubles feeling very nearly better I decided it was time for another run - I managed 6.5 K . For the first few k I ran at probably my best ever pace (nothing amazing ) but probably set off a bit enthusiastically as I then slowed right down but finished comfortably - but it the furthest I've ever run.
10 K here I come...

Great distance, well done 👏🏻👏🏻 have you tried the Nike Run Club App? there are runs on there of all different distances and you get a coach to encourage you too, you can play your own music and it’s free. I used it to increase distance, I found it really good 👍🏃♂️
Hi - no I haven't used that one - so far I have used the addidas Runtastic app just to record distance /pace/time etc and tell me in my headset when I attain another kilometer. I listen Spotify playlists . At the moment i have just been going out as often as I can (always with a break day in between and going for a longer run every week or so which i stretch if i feel up to it. My location mean if I run out my front door my runs are always hilly and more demanding. If I take a drive I can run on the flat along a canal towpath - so i flex what i attempt to match my varying time availability and the terrain.
So for the moment I'm not pushing to hard - and just slowly extending distance and exploring new possible routes. Not sure i want the coach and C25K type program yet .
Just consolidating and doing my on thing and enjoying the freedom ..
