So, another run done, decided to leave it last night, for a daylight run today, usualy do mon/wed/fri, rest 2 days.
It still amazes me, that i'm actualy doing this πββοΈπββοΈπββοΈ and also how friendly other runners are, and fast!!! π€£, and the normal walkers too βΊ
Did 5k, in about 40 mins, nike and strava, never seem to agree! I even briefly stopped to take a few pictures, today was first time going along the canal too.
Anyway, hope all you graduates from thur/fri, dont have to much of a sore head, and enjoy the rest of the weekend. π

WoW...you're steaming along, ππππwell done you. That's just fabulous, and how far you're running after graduation, you must be feeling greatπππ. Appreciate the photo, its nice to see where people are exercising their limbsπ. I'm having 2 days off, again, CR1 for me tomorrow. yep...made the most of the celebrations last night...well 2 reasons to celebrate..had to be doneπ€£ππ€£ππ΅πΆπ΅πΆ. Really pleased for you Peter....going from strength to strength. And you're absolutely right... this really is such a supportive and friendly site... great to have found it, especially now we're stuck in LOCK UPπ€£π. Back to the rehydration π°π°π°π°π°for me...it WAS a very "happy" evening indeedπΎπΎπΎ. Well done again and all the very best.πββοΈππ’π
Thank you, I still take a while to get into a run, but once i'm there, it seems ok, hadn't planned to up the pace, and it's always pretty windy, by the studios, it's very open, used to be an aerodrome years ago. Took a few photos, but couldnt work out how to put them all up! π€£
Well done on your run- I did mine this morning in the park- weekend runs are so much nicer. You can enjoy a rest now, knowing youβve been good and got the run done!
Nice one, Peter ππ 5k in 40mins is very good going. I like a weekend run, good bit of daylight to enjoy and post-run it's such a good feeling knowing it's the weekend and you can chill! Planning my run tomorrow morning. Will head out early as this seems to be my preferred running time now. No lie in for me!!
Yep, know what you mean about post run, time to chill a bit, dont get that with my evening/after work runs. Mind you, i get up at 4.30am mon-fri, for work, so try to get a lay in, at weekend, so no very early runs for me! π€£
Haha! You are actually doing this - you are, you are - and smashing it. Was the new canal route good?
+ Haha! No sore head for me, thankfully, but I did overindulge on the food last night (fabulous, but rich). Today, Iβve had a quiet day: market, my zoom yoga and, having enjoyed that so much, decided to sign up for a meditation class too. Iβm now beautifully zoned out and all floaty.
Sounds very calming, and relaxing! βΊThe canal was just a little bit, at the end, to get up to 5k. Hope i'm not overdoing it, achey knees etc, next week going to start the ju ju magic running plan, to try and get to 60 mins! π₯΅π₯΅π₯΅
Cripes! That sounds ambitious. Not at all calming and relaxing. π
Btw Have you tried the nhs exercises for runnersβ knee strengthening? These really helped, I found, and a lot of my knee issues subsided (miraculously). nhs.uk/live-well/exercise/k...
I'm actualy very naughty, dont tell anyone else, but i dont do alot of warm up/ down stretches, mainly just 5min walk, and usualy longer walk, at the end! π€«
Ooooo... Iβm definitely among the well behaved group here.
Maybe time to add them, especially as you up your training? And especially to support those knees? (Youβre also missing all the fun with foam rollers π€ͺππ΅)
