Couch to Covid

So for those who read my last post you’ll know my fella tested positive for Covid.

Over the weekend I’ve felt shocking and have been tested twice, shockingly I tested negative... Despite that, I’m still isolating and won’t be allowed out for a run till next Monday.

I really don’t want to loose the fitness I’ve built during the first 8 weeks (+some repeat weeks)

So... because I’m feeling a little better I thought I’d take ur advice and do some indoor YouTube lead exercise. I chose a 40min Jo Wicks H.I.T workout.... I always struggle with things like this because any exercise that requires me to put weight on my arms, I can’t do (I have little use of my right arm because of complications during my 1st shoulder replacement)...

I did like it... but not as much as I enjoy running in the outdoors.... I’d like to try someone other than Joe Wicks, so if anyone has any suggestions they’d be most welcome.

People on my team asked if I was climbing the walls after a weekend inside I said “I really miss running”... and that’s so true... I can’t bloody believe it...

Hope you aren’t feeling to bad & your partner gets better soon. During the first lockdown, I used to do the Mark Wright workouts on Instagram. Not sure if they are still on his IGTV as they were free, but now he has a whole subscription thing that has led from it. Worth a look though as I really enjoyed them, he had celebrities doing it too which made it more fun. Hard work but was enjoyable 😁

Maybe this link to a post I wrote a couple of days ago might be of interest : healthunlocked.com/couchto5...

It’s both running and workouts, but there are some links to really fun ways of working out, like belly dancing, for instance.

I do find the NHS has quite a good collection of workout videos that really are designed to fit all levels. So they’re worth a try: nhs.uk/conditions/nhs-fitne...

Happy workout!

I also have limited use of one Shoulder after replacement due to a big accident, no Rotator Cuff attachment at all and then I have had ligament re-attachment recently on the other shoulder (Bicep and Rotator cuff), so I feel your pain. I can load my shoulders as long as I think about alignment so can do planks and slow and steady press ups but it really is about concentrating on keeping that alignment. Take it steady with any shoulder based exercises but lots of other workouts out there Youtube is your friend.

Hi Hattie, great to hear you've tested negative, despite you feeling rotten...that is good news. Hope you're partners doing well now👍. I've got rotator cuff problem in my left arm and find it difficult to do planks etc....really have to be gentle with this type of exercise. don't know if you'd want try try yoga??? There's a good Yoga for Runners by Adrienne on YouTube and the NHS HIIT videos are pretty good too. Must admit despite always doing the warm up from NHS HIIT (1) before I start my warm up walk and run, I have to "force" myself to do video exercises. I'm far better getting to classes...no can do at mom of course!! Hey ho! Maybe a good dance cardio would suit you? Might have a go myself 😁. Anyway good to hear you're ok....Take care 🙋🙋🙋
