Its not been the best week, nor the worst either. The arthritis flare up has really knocked the stuffing out of me and the weather has been miserable. I can cope with one or the other but both together just not conducive to running and so I have been giving myself the license not to run, but still guilt tripping myself for not.
However the arthritis seems to be simmering down a bit now and as the morning wore on the sky cleared and it looked like the sun was going to shine. Early lunch it was then, shorts, T-shirt and runners on and I got out there. Out around the harbour, and then lets tackle some inclines. First K or so and I was puffing, K 3 was uphill, slow and my legs were as heavy as, but I got into a rythm and just kept plodding along. Ignored the first turning that would made the run about 4K, then ignored the 5 K option I was enjoying this and feeling good. At 45 minutes enough was enough but I had clocked 6 K and happy to have done so, vowing to myself that the next run was only a couple of days away.
