So I completed the W6 R1 this afternoon but to be honest I found it more difficult than the landmark 20 minute run from W5. By the time I was starting the third part, the five minute run I was almost ready to drop (obviously I didn't. What the point in that). Why was this feeling so hard??????
But, it occurred to me as I ran past the point I finished W5. I think I might have been in some kind of super hero mode after finishing the twenty minute run. Five-eight-five minutes running, but I've done twenty minutes two days go....EASY.....WRONG.
So I clearly started too fast thinking I could manage this new, fit speed rather than maintaining the pace I have been used to up until now.
I wonder if everyone did a similar thing on W6 R1 or was it just me.

Well done on that first W6 run mg. Its is a strange change of pace after the build up to the 20 minutes you conquered a few days ago. I think I said the same thing to you in my last reply about being a little over confident in week 6 and going too fast - although like the two of us I think many people on this programme are guilty of the same thing.
I think week 6 is all about learning about pace and getting it wrong is part of the learning process. By the end of week 6 I felt more comfortable again.
Run 1 of week 6 catches out quite a few runners after run 3 of week 5, however, if you take it especially slowly you should be OK, only one more run with interval walks and runs, run 3 of week 6 is back to non stop running, the first of 4/25 minute runs. 🏃🏾
