Just started run 1 week 2 and changed coach to jo wiley as she seemed to give more encouragement, out of breath aching but feeling good that I'm doing something positive for my health, determined to see it through to 5k

Well done-I started 5 weeks ago and was tired after the 1 minute runs. I’m at week 5 now and I can’t believe how much I’ve improved so keep going- you’ll see a big difference x

I have Jo as my coach too... we’ve become firm friends 😂 and she’s got me through to W9!

If this is your first post you’ll soon be receiving some fantastic advice and posts to read about hydration, warm up, stretches after etc. but the best piece of advice I can offer as a novice is slow down... always!

This is a fabulously friendly and supportive forum so keep posting!

Good luck with the programme 😊

Welcome to the forum and well done

on getting started.

This guide to the plan is essential reading healthunlocked.com/couchto5...

and includes advice on minimising impact, stretching after every run, hydration and strengthening exercises, all of which will help.

Enjoy your journey.

Hi, I too started 5 weeks ago, keep going, like others have said, best advise I had, was to slow down, which is making the runs, much more enjoyable.

Thanks that's what I did on my last run Jo the coach said you only need to jog not run which really helped

I have just finished week 2 and I also changed to Jo...I find her slightly rambling chat the sort of thing I’d say myself! I think that helps to relax me and in turn things seem a bit easier! Good Luck!
