New trainers: road or trail?

I’m on week 4 of c25k and thoroughly enjoying starting to run. I’m thinking of investing in some new running shoes and not sure whether to go for road or trail as I’d say I run 50% on the pavement and 50% in the woods/on grass. Does anyone have any tips? Hugely appreciated if so!

Road shoes can handle a lot of off road running, but trail shoes are not advisable for road running.
