Today I'm too tired. I wanted to run every other day but I think I'll stick to Mon/Wed/Fri and rest the whole weekend.
I'm still in a bit of pain from my intermittent speed running day and feeling kinda drained. I also walk quite a bit in between runs so. I think I need to rest a little. After all, 2 months ago I was an absolute couch potato.

Get some scissors ✂️ and cut yourself some slack! You’ve been doing just great, but I did wonder if you were overdoing it a bit, especially when you posted your proposed plan.
I did the same as you! Every time I ran, I wanted to improve my pace. I thought I had to get faster! Surely that’s improvement, right? I woke up one morning and didn’t want to run. So I changed my plan. My Friday or Saturday run has now become my long, slow run. I mean slow! Easy conversational pace. For me, that means pace somewhere between 9’ and 10’30”. I have the heart rate zones set up on my watch, so I can stay in zone 3. It changed my mood completely and got me back on track.
I didn’t want to join the Magic Plan, so I just totalled the time of my previous 3 runs and added 10% for my first long run. I almost gave up when I realised how slowly I was running, but I loved it! It’s not meant to be about distance, but I did my first 10K on Saturday in 1 hr 33 mins. I increase the time every week. If I feel like it! The slow running was a revelation to me. When you finish, you are not even out of breath! And you have time to look around and concentrate on how you are running. And it’s brilliant for strengthening your body, stamina and because of that, after a time, your pace.
So I’ve jumped out of the race and now I’m following my own plan.
Take 2 or 3 days rest and reassess. I think Iannoda’s idea of a 4 run cycle is brilliant and I’m thinking about that, too.
You’ve come so far from that couch potato! All you need is a rest and a tweaking of your plan . 👏👏👏👍
Thank you! I think this program has unleashed the beast that I didn't even know I had. I'm not a competitive person...or so I thought... yet here I am, stressing about being faster than the last time.
Today I thought, I'll rest and eat and drink water and tomorrow if maybe I will WANT to run.
If you are too tired then listen to your body. Take extra rest days if you need to, nothing bad is going to happen and you can run again with fresh legs!
